Chef Ted Reader

Known as the ‘Godfather of the Grill’, his charm and fearless culinary spirit has led Ted to becoming an award-winning chef, author, food-entertainer, product developer/innovator and professor.

Ted’s culinary adventure began at George Brown College Chef School in Toronto which to date has paved the way for his dynamic career. He cooks for all walks of life from swanky corporate affairs; to backyard BBQ parties and summer festivals.

He has written twenty-one cook books including; Taste Canada’s 2014 Gold Medal Winner Gastro Grilling plus Napoleon’s Everyday Gourmet Grilling, Napoleon’s Everyday Gourmet Plank Grilling and Napoleon’s Everyday Gourmet Burgers which all took home the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards for Best Barbecue Book. Newer books to Ted’s collection include; Beerlicious: The Art of Grillin’ and Chillin’, and the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Smoking.

Ted’s passion for all things smoked and grilled is extremely contagious so much that you’ll often find him spreading the gospel of BBQ at live cooking demonstrations, TV appearances and on the radio to audiences that keep salivating for more!

Ted can usually be found in his backyard of his Toronto home firing up one of his multiple (75 + grills and smokers) and developing creative and delicious recipes to which he is known for.

Pizza
Smoked Pork n Bacon Pizza with Roasted Red Onion, Spiced Caramel Apple Sauce, Fresh Mozzarella and Sage
we fire up our  @ovenbrothers #woodfiredpizzaoven and bake you one tasty pizza pie. The sauce be a spiced caramel apple sauce (tastes like an liquified apple crumble), top it with a whack of 3 mozzarella cheeses (original, smoked and fresh), fire roasted red onions, low n slow smoked pork shoulder gets added and some crispy bacon, oh my god bacon and cheese and pork n apples fuck me this sounds good! We fire it in the oven and when she be done we top it off with some fresh parmesan, fried fresh sage and a little extra drizzle of spiced caramel apple sauce #itbetasty $22

Crispy Fish n Shrimp Tacos
This is a trio of tasting fucking tacos. Made by our taco expert Adrianna, she rocks the live fire pits!
Crispy strips of pickerel, atop a plancha sizzled gluten free corn tortilla with a schmeer of super thick tarter sauce infused crema. Add a chunky salsa of beer poached shrimp n avocado salsa, shredded lettuce, pickled red onions, crispy fried jalapeno, chipotle mayo drizzle and a garnish of fresh cilantro
served with our salsa Roja and Verde and a wedge of lime.

The Puffing Dead Zombie Cookie n Pudding
A little pre Halloween dessert of some spooky tasty goodness. My cookie maker Sasha rocks the cookie dough world with what she calls the Puffing Dead Zombie Cookie, a deathly spin on a brown butter “infused” chocolate & butterscotch chip cookie topped with zombie brains and smoked sea salt followed up with a drizzle of fake blood icing. Serving this up with a spiced chocolate hazelnut cheesecake pudding with worms n dirt. #itbetasty $13
